Sharon S. Yang brings public and private sector financial services expertise across strategic, policy and legal initiatives. She is currently Global Head of Regulatory Affairs at JPMorgan Chase.
Sharon leads a team responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive financial regulatory strategy on behalf of the firm, including engaging in balanced advocacy with domestic and international financial regulators, policy makers and standard setters; understanding and providing thought leadership on how policies affect the firm, our clients and economic growth overall; and governing internal coordination among regions and lines of business on global regulatory reform issues.
Sharon brings over two decades of public and private sector financial services experience across strategic, policy and regulatory initiatives. Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, she was the Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Financial Markets at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, leading a team of international economists and financial analysts responsible for addressing a wide range of international financial policy issues, including advocating U.S. interests on the Financial Stability Board, at the G7 and G20, and bilaterally with EU and Asian counterparts, as well as monitoring financial stability risks in key markets. Sharon is a frequent speaker on financial regulatory issues, represented Treasury on several domestic and international committees, and co-chaired the G20 Sustainability Finance Working Group and the G7 Digital Payments Experts Group. She is the recipient of the Secretary’s Distinguished Service Award.
Sharon started her career as a management consultant and lawyer in private practice. She is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and the Huntsman Program in International Studies and Business at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is a member of the Alumni Council.
